Helen Korubu has found a donor for her medication!

Helen, 40 years old, lives with 5 children (5-17 years old) in Kibera, the biggest slum of Africa. 10 years ago, she has come with her husband from Kisi in the NW Kenya after Nairobi, in the hope work and, to get a better income with it. Her dreaming turned into nothing: Unemployment, high school-dues and not in the comparison to the province-capital Kisi just as high costs of living did her hopes to niece.

Helen suffers from massive hypertension since years but she doesn’t have the money for the necessary treatment. During one of the last follow ups, I measured again extremely elevated blood pressure-level of 210/110 mm of mercury.

Elevated blood pressure levels of this magnitude have a high risk to develop atherosclerosis which can lead to coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction (heart attack) and stroke. Therefore Helen needs urgently treatment!

Finally Helen receives help through a solid monthly long term donation of 50,-€ from a generous donor whose closest family member suffers also heavily from elevated blood pressure and its complications. Therefore he knows exactly what untreated blood pressure means.
