Social Situation:

A dedicated doctor who works in Mathare Valley slum in Nairobi’s South for the “Ärzte für die Dritte Welt – German Doctors” presented the following shocking case to TULISA:

22 year-old Mercy, mother of three children (6 months, 3 and 5 years old) was injured in a serious car accident on 25/12/2011 in which her 6 month old baby and a friend died.

Medical Problem:

She was severely injured on her right arm and face. Additionally, she suffers from a non-healing open fracture of her left wrist. At the hospital, her right arm had to be amputated; the left arm was put in a plaster cast. The first part of the operation was paid by donations of Kenyan doctor. Still surgical treatment of the left arm and the face is necessary.

Mercy is currently retired to her village in the Kenyan province. Our social worker Dotty is in contact with her.

Once sufficient funds are collected by donations, we intend to organize the operation. Mercy needs so urgently your help: hopefully we can report a successful course of treatment soon!
