Social Situation:

Maureen lives with her family in the Kibera slum in Nairobi. She and her husband try to survive “as usual” with casual work what means no secure regular income.

They live under very basic conditions without running water, and electricity, there is not even a toilet. They have to use a public toilet for a fee.

Medical Problem:

As part of a unsuccessful delivery supported by a Traditional Birth Attendant (TBA), while she lost her child, Maureen suffered from a heavy vaginal trauma. Since then, she suffers from severe lower abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding and painful intercourse, which affects her sexually and emotionally.

TULISA plans to present her case to a gynecological specialist for an accurate diagnosis and determination of appropriate reconstructive surgery.

Unfortunately, she and her family cannot afford the amount of 3000, – € required for this purpose. Maureen depends on your help!
